Project Brief

Wordsworth Properties entrusted Green Piling to design and install the foundations for their brand-new development at Cross Bank, Balby, to deliver 59No. 2, 3, or 4 bedroom properties.

Our G-sPan modular foundation system offers an efficient and economic solution for sites with poor loadbearing strata, with benefits for programme durations and in terms of carbon savings when compared to traditional foundations in the same ground.

G-sPan is engineered to each units’ footprint and finished floor level, ensuring a finished product that is immediately available for the structure to be built upon.

Results

The Cross Bank site has made ground overlying Chester Formation sandstone so Green Piling proposed our pre-stressed precast concrete driven pile as the most economic solution from our suite of piling capabilities.

With 358No precast piles driven to an average depth of 6m supporting over 1700m of G-sPan foundation beam, value engineering is at the heart of every project we undertake and our range of restricted access, CFA, driven precast, and driven steel tubular piles ensures we can deliver the most affordable solution for our clients.
