About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Precast Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our precast concrete pile and beam manufacturing facility at our manufacturing site in Chesterfield S41. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production activities, ensuring quality standards, driving operational efficiency, and maintaining a safe working environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven professional with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in precast concrete production and factory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all factory operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor precast manufacturing activities.
  • Manage supervisors and the production teams to maximise performance and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Monitor production costs, labour utilisation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules for plant and equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
  • Manage supplier relationships and procurement activities to control costs, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure timely supply of materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Prepare production reports and provide regular updates to senior management.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Proven experience in precast concrete manufacturing.
  • Previous experience in a Factory Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of precast production processes, moulds, reinforcement, and concrete technologies.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO standards.
