Role overview
The role will involve the production of accurate, coordinated technical drawings that underpin the successful delivery of modern foundation solutions. Working closely with engineers, estimators and site teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring designs are buildable, compliant and aligned with programme and commercial requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing Housing Division and be involved in the wider adoption of modern methods of construction (MMC) within the residential sector.
Key responsibilities
- Produce AutoCAD drawings for precast ground beam layouts
- Develop general arrangement, setting-out and construction drawings for residential foundations
- Coordinate pile positions, beam sizes, levels and interfaces with superstructure layouts
- Amend and update drawings in response to design changes, site feedback and engineer comments
- Work collaboratively with engineers, estimators and project teams to ensure buildability and accuracy
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, specifications and housebuilder requirements
- Maintain drawing registers and support document control processes
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience using AutoCAD (essential)
- Background in groundworks, piling, foundations or structural detailing
- Strong understanding of setting-out, levels and construction tolerances
- Ability to read and interpret engineering calculations and architects’ drawings
- High attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused mindset
- Comfortable working to programme deadlines in a commercial environment
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with precast concrete systems or MMC
- Exposure to residential housebuilder standards and NHBC requirements
- Experience coordinating piling and ground beam interfaces
- Familiarity with PDF mark-ups (e.g. Bluebeam)
