Steel H Pile Retaining Walls
Green Piling offer a design, supply and installation service for H pile retaining walls.
Also known as king post, berlin soldier or sleeper walls, the retaining structure is formed from the installation of steel H piles at set spacings and infilled with timber or concrete planks within the H piles web.
Piles can be deigned to cantilever, for relatively small retained heights up to 3m, or with the addition of propping or shoring greater retained heights can be achieved subject to soil conditions and pile installation method.
H piles are particularly suited to temporary retaining situations and housing developments. Piles can be infilled with reclaimed railway sleepers or new timber for a natural environmentally friendly appearance.
These retaining walls are inexpensive and fast to install and are ideally suited to suburban locations.
