Green Piling undertook design, supply and installation of steel tubular piles and concrete ground beams at Denaby Court, Conisbrough to form part of the foundations for a new housing development comprising of four apartment blocks.
Piled foundations were chosen due to concerns over groundwater entry and the stability of foundation excavations.
Piles were cut down using burning gear and where necessary a cutting wheel. The steel works for the beams were constructed on site. Pile testing was also part of the package.
The foundations were installed over 2 visits. In total 134 steel tubular piles and 391 lin.m. 450 x 550mm reinforced concrete cast in situ ground beams were installed. Piles were supplied in 140, 177 and 244mm diameters and driven up to 28m to support working loads of up to 650kN.
