Green Piling have recently completed the installation fo steel tubular piles at Tilbury Docks to form part of the foundations for a new cement grinding plant.
The piling works took place close to an existing building and inside a restricted access building where partial removal of the roof was required to enable the leader of the piling rig to be erected for the internal works.
Piles were designed to be driven to a length of 25m to support working loads of up to 250kN and included dynamic load tests to 10% of the piles. 12-14m length piles were used with interference mechanical joints to form the 25m length piles.
