Green Piling proposed short steel tubes driven with a restricted headroom top driven rig which suited the ground conditions as the ground was too dense for traditional driven mini piling. This alternative piling system was far more cost effective than bored mini piles or odex piles and due to their high strength narrow sections, were able to drive through the dense cobbles in the ground.

GPL suggested that the Main Contractor dig out the cap prior to piling commenced; this meant piles could be cut off to level immediately after driving and could be driven below ground level. This minimised waste and asved time on the Main Contractors programme. We offered a factor of safety of 3.0 within the design, which eliminated the need for pile testing.
